Fergus's ideal home

Fergus is only a youngster and would like his family to be around for most of the day to help settle him in and put his training in place. Any time on his own should be introduced gradually and positively. Fergus will benefit from having experienced owners who are comfortable reading a dogs body language. He does like to keep resources to himself like food for example so some management will need to be put in place and he will need to have a child free home. ‘Swaps’ and ‘drops’ will also help with this. While he does enjoy having his doggy walking friends while out on a walk he will need to be the only pampered pooch in the home.

Mental enrichment is a great way to entertain this growing puppy. He enjoys keeping his mind active as well as exploring the world out on walks. He’d love a garden of his own to have plenty of playtimes and do fun games in. Maybe his own little zone to do some gardening of his own as he does enjoy a good dig. For someone who enjoys getting out and about on day adventures and likes doing training Fergus will be a great to work with; he's a fantastic lad!

Golden Retriever Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Golden Retriever.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
