Description

George's ideal home

George is a lovely young Retriever looking for an active home. He is friendly but can be worried by new experiences and so is looking for an adult-only home with a space of his own that he can retreat to when he wants. George enjoys meeting other dogs and can happily walk with them but gets worried off-lead and has shown some guarding behaviours around food. Therefore he will need to be the only pet in the home. He can be a bit of handful on walks as he's quite strong and hasn't mastered loose-lead walking yet. Owners that can manage him in the short-term while giving him the extra training and attention he needs are just what he's looking for.

Could you be George's perfect match?

George is an intelligent 2 yr old who loves to play. He came into our care after being found as a stray. For this reason we don’t know much about him, but he is fully housetrained and knows some basic commands, so he likely has spent some time in a home. George will need some additional training to get happy with the car, but we do think he’ll be ok being left for a couple of hours in the home once he’s settled in. With a family who will play with him and help him with his training he’s going to make a wonderful companion.

Petunia's ideal home Petunia is a lovely older lady who is looking for her retirement home. She loves people and getting all the fuss and attention she can. Petunia has come to us with very little information so we are unsure if she is housetrained or how she would be being left on her own. We recommend this is gradually built up once she's settled into her forever home.

Golden Retriever Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Golden Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
